I get asked all the time this question:
“How do you workout when you have kids at home and life is so busy?”
Great question!
Here is a little bit of background on our family situation so you can get an idea of how I make this work.
I stay at home with our littles. Dan is the breadwinner of the family and we have one car. He is the only one with a gym membership (which costs $10 and he does not pay for it. Someone else does.)
Since at this present moment, a monthly gym membership is not in our budget, I had to be smart with my time, my resources and figure out a great way for me to stay fit and healthy while caring for my family.
I started by asking myself the following questions:
*Did I have the resources necessary to create a mini home gym?
*Do I need shoes?
*Does my complex/apartment community have a gym I could use?
*What time of day would be best for ME to workout?
*Is Dan available on certain days/times to watch the kids while I workout?
*Are friends willing to do a buddy swap so I could workout?
As you can see, I asked myself questions and just started doing what was best in my situation.
My answer to every single mom who asks me this question?
There is no quick answer. Every single one of you have unique situations, income levels, availability and so you will have to just START.
Ask yourself these questions. Make a plan.
You will discover through trial and error what works best. For now, the morning rocks in my house. I am up for the most part before everyone else. I am able to do my program and then begin taking care of the needs of my family. Will that change at some point? Perhaps. I can’t predict the future.
So just Start Today!
If you need help figuring these questions out, let me know. Would love to help you!

Great post! Just starting is really the best advice ever.
Yes! Sometimes we get so stuck that we don’t start. So true Kim!
